Bailar isn't class management software. We don't track who's enrolled in your Tuesday salsa class, generate instructor pay stubs, or schedule rehearsal time. If that's what you need, you want MindBody, Glofox, or Mariana Tek. We won't pretend otherwise.
Bailar is an event listing with built-in discovery. You list your social events for free, set a door cover, and we put them in front of dancers actively looking for somewhere to dance tonight — minus the studio admin scaffolding nobody asked for.
Many venues host classes during their events. A 30-minute beginner lesson before a Saturday social, a workshop tacked onto a festival weekend. Those classes aren't run through Bailar; they're part of the event. We don't track who attended the lesson, who passed, or what their progress is. The class is the venue's. The listing is ours. Everyone keeps their own job.

What we don't do

The questions venues actually ask
Do I need to be a dance studio to use this?
No. This is for venues that host social dance events — clubs, bars with dance nights, lounges, ballrooms, hotels, festival grounds, lofts. If you also teach classes on a regular schedule, you probably want /for-studios — same listing engine, plus class roster + instructor management.
Is it really free to list?
Yes. Listing your events, the discovery surface, RSVPs, and door check-in are all free, with no monthly subscription. You set a single door cover and guests pay at the door — Bailar takes no cut of door cash. Paid online ticketing (where Bailar would process payments) is still rolling out.
Do you take a cut of classes that happen during my event?
No. We don't track class attendance, instructor pay, or student progress. If your Saturday social includes a 30-minute beginner lesson before the DJ starts, that lesson is part of the event. It's between you, your instructor, and the dancer. Bailar lists the event; what happens once the dancer walks in is your call. Social classes are never run through Bailar.
Where do my events show up?
On the Bailar mobile app feed, on the city pages at bailar.site/events/[city], in the geo-aware push to nearby dancers, and on your venue's profile. Linkable URLs work everywhere — your Instagram bio, your own site, posters with QR codes, your existing email blast.
What if I'm already on Eventbrite?
Run them in parallel. Bailar is a discovery channel for the dance scene, not a replacement for your existing pipe. Many venues post the same event to both and let dancers find them wherever they're looking. Bailar puts you in front of dancers actively searching for somewhere to dance; that's the audience most general event sites don't have.
What about selling tickets online?
Paid online ticketing — multi-tier tickets, discount codes, refund windows, Stripe Connect payouts, and live analytics — is in active development and not live on web yet.
