Who was Thalia Mara? Renowned dance educator, author of books on ballet instruction, director of a school of arts in NYC, founder of the USA International Ballet Competition, she was, first and foremost, a dancer. In 2010, Ms. Mara was honored posthumously as an American Masterpiece by the National Endowment of the Arts through the Mississippi Arts Commission. Take a look at the life of this woman whose rich artistic legacy thrives in the USA IBC. Produced by Communication Arts Company: Art McAlpin, videographer and editor; John Stockwell, editor and director; and Brenda Trigg, writer and producer.
